SUBJECT: Conversation with Miss Fran Christy, House Immigration and
Naturalization Subcommittee staff, Regarding the

1. Met with Miss Fran Christy who told me that there have been
several telephone calls back and forth during the last two weeks to Mr. Troy
Connor but as yet Mr. Connor had not talked o anyone on the staff concerning
the F hick is pending in the Senate.
2. Miss Christy called me later in the day and told me she had talked
to Mr. Connor. The conversation was lengthy and difficult with Mr. Connor
insisting that a bill is pending before the House Committee, is being tied up
by Mr. Cline, Chief Counsel for the Committee, and that the Committee must
handle this bill since is no longer with and needs his citizen-
ship to find employment. Miss Christy closed the conversation by telling
Mr. Connor that these are the exact reasons why the Committee could not 25X1
approve such a bill. I thanked Miss Christy for the advice.
