Met with Mr. John R. Blandford, Chief Counsel,
House Armed Services committee, who told m.e that there had been no
further developments within the Committee regarding the new Subcommittee
on Intelligence. Mr. 13landford would suggest, however, that it. mighty be.
well if the Agency can deal with the new Subcommittee Chairma.ri, and the
members of the new Subcommittee as a unit rather than dealing with him. a s an
individual in providing briefings and so forth. Otherwise we could run, the
risk of upsetting the existing arrangements for dealing only with Messrs. Hebert
and Arends on matters of substance. I thanked Mr. I3landford for the advice,
