OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL
Friday - 28 May 1971
1. (Confidential - JMM) Received a call from Richard Perle, on the
staff of Senator Jackson's Subcommittee on National Security and International
Operations, who told me of mysterious calls that Dorothy Fosdick, of the
Subcommittee staff, (now on vacation) had received from someone identifying
himself only as a member of the Russian Embassy staff. Perle said a few

2. (Internal Use Only - JGO) Received a call from Miss Jane
Schweiker, in the office of Senator Jack Miller (R. , Iowa), who told me that
she has received some interesting correspondence from employees of the
Post: Office Department who may be leaving the Department during the
coming months. She suggested that if I cared to, she would make the
correspondence available to me for review any time during the week of
7 June. I thanked Miss Schweiker for the call.
3. (Secret - GLC) Met with Ed Braswell, Senate Armed Services
Committee staff, to firm up arrangements for our meeting with him on Tuesday
afternoon for a briefing on Agency involvement in the drug problem in Southeast
Asia. As a background piece I left with Braswell a copy of BNDD's reply to
Representative Gubser with attachment.
I also left with Braswell a copy of our answers to the three questions
posed by Messrs. Bland.ford and Slatinshek, House Armed Services Committee
staff, on the Agency budget and the Radios and 25X1C
