Mr. Maury and I hand carried to Ed
Braswell, on the staff of the Senate Armed Services Committee,a copy
of the prepared statement as given by the Director at the full Senate
Armed Services Committee briefing on 4March. We also gave him
the following: statements on Pakistan and Chile in. response to a request
from Senator Margaret Chase Smith (R., Me. ), items on Soviet ground
forces and tactical air units in response to a request from Chairman
Stennis, a piece on Cuba, and a copy of the floor statement of Represen-
tative Mendel Rivers made last year on the Soviet navy. Braswell
said he would review this material and let us know if anything further
was needed.
