See Memo for Record. 7. (Secret - JMM) Ed Braswell, Senate Armed Services Committee staff, called to say that he had indications that since Fulbright, Symington and others might try to go into the Agency budget, its Laos operations, and other sensitive matters during the upcoming military authorization bill, Stennis wished to be able, in such event, to say that he has been fully briefed on the Agency budget, and would like to be armed with other material for use if debate on these issues materializes. 8. (Secret - JMM) Discussed above problems with Bill Woodruff, Counsel, Senate Appropriations Committee, who is confined at home due to illness. Woodruff said that Senator Russell was in the hospital but as soon as possible he would try to acquaint Russell with the problem, and would also try to alert Senators Ellender, McClellan and Milton Young to be ready to resist on the floor efforts to probe into Agency sensitive matters.
