F. Raborn Jr., USN (Ret.), as the-
next director of the Central Intel-
ligence Agency, .President Johnson

lic applause. .
A native of Texas, Adm. Raborn
is the man responsible for marry-
, ing~the Polaris missile to the nu-+
clear submarine. Thus he is one of
the principal authors of American
security today.
A combat sailor who -went on to
direct a . vast team of scientists,
"Red" Raborn is superbly
'.eclttipped in mind, spirit and ex-
perience to direct 'the global ac-
tivities of .the CTA. Most, importanly
~: of all, he is a man who can be
trusted with the immense power
held by the director of .the CIA.
A dedicated patriot, without po-
litical bias, the ? admiral will have
his eye on only one- task-serving
the national. interest. This -appoint-
