give a gala reception in the
beautiful John Quincy
Adams Room of the Depart-
ment of State following
Monday's concert by the
Canadian Broadcasting Cor-
poration Symphony and solo-
ist.' Van Cliburn.
The concert is a salute to
the 16th anniversary of the
United Nations and is being
presented under the patron-
age of the President and
Mrs. Kennedy and the Cana-
dian Ambassador and Mrs.
A., D. P. Heeney. The Rusks'
party will honor the Am-
bassador and Mrs. Heeney,
Van Cliburn and Geoffrey
Waddington, director of the
Symphony.
FORTY-FIVE chiefs of
diplomatic missions in Wash-
ington have accepted invita-
tions to the concert, and the
Attorney General and Mrs.
Robert F. Kennedy head the
group of Government offi-
cials who will be there to
rlo honor to the United Na-
tions.
Special guests will be 80
students from International
Student House, many of
whom will be wearing their
national dress.
The concert is for the ben-
efit of the United States
committee for the United
Nations, a nonpartisan, non-
profit committee of national
organizations. Its chairman,
Flobert S. Benjamin of New
York, was appointed by the
President, and will also be
here for the concert.
