I am glad to write, Mr. Jackson,
to tell you that very many Fordham students derived
many benefits, and enjoyably too, from the lecture
that you authorized and give here on
May 15th. I want you to know how grateful I am to
you and
First of all, from the point of view of our produc-
ing the informed citizen, this lecture was extra-
ordinarily useful. I know that I myself learned a
great deal from it, and so did the. students, as
they told me.
Secondly, it helped very much in the work of the
Institute of Conaorary Russian Studies, because
it orientated the students personally as well as
theoretically with regard to this important field
of American activity.
Finally, a general good impression was left, be-
cause gave an extraordinarily good
lecture, and-VW _rudience would have liked to hear
more at the time and look forward to his next lecture.
As something of a lecturer myself, I was in a po-
sition critically to consider talk, 25X1A9a
and I give it top rating.
Let me reiterate my appreciation of ouOa thoriza-
tion of this lecture and of imple-
