tural events to commemorate
the 137th anniversary of the
independence of Brazil start-
ing OR September 7.
On the opening day Am-
bassador Moriera Salles will
give a reception for Brazilian
residents.

will be the opening of the
exhibition of modern Brazil-
ian paintings and engravings
at the Arts Club.
It will include over 60 as-
sembled from paintings; loan-
ed from museums throughout
the country as well as from
