James D. Deegan, 43, a Cen-

Comfort Cemetery, Fairfax
County, albout a mile from his
home at 12' W. 'Austin ave.,
Virginia Hills.
Fairfax County Police Chief
William L. Durren, said the

County Medical Examiner
Claude Cooper said Deegan
had been shot twice in the
chest. Police said they .found
Deegan's gun, a .38-caliber
Luger, about 100?feet from the
body.
Deegan's wife, Helen, told
police she heard her husband
leave ; home about midnight
and drive off. Deegan's car
was found parked at the ceme-
tery entrance. An empty hol-
ster and a box of bullets were
in the car, police said.

Deegan' %ad been employed by
the Agency since 1953 in a
non-classified position and had
worked here and' . abroad.

to 1953.
He is survived by his wife
and three daughters.
