County Medical Examiner Claude Cooper said Deegan had been shot twice in the chest. Police said they .found Deegan's gun, a .38-caliber Luger, about 100?feet from the body. Deegan's wife, Helen, told police she heard her husband leave ; home about midnight and drive off. Deegan's car was found parked at the ceme- tery entrance. An empty hol- ster and a box of bullets were in the car, police said. lA spokesman said Deegan' %ad been employed by the Agency since 1953 in a non-classified position and had worked here and' . abroad.
