WASHINGTON, D. C. -- Dr. Frederic J. Kramer, Syracuse
University left, and three of five founders of the Inter-Agency Language
Round Table, talk informally during the eighth annual meeting of the
Round Table at Syracuse University's conference center, Blue Mountain
Lake, N. Y. The founding fathers are Dr. James R. Frith, School of
Language and Area Studies, Foreign Service Institute, Dr. Leroy J.
Benoit, Academic Advisor, Defense Language Institute, and
chief, Language Training School, CIA. The annual
meeting of the Inter-Agency Round Table, which holds monthly sessions
in Washington, has become in international forum for language training
activities. Five nations were represented this year. Dr. Kramer, as
head of the University's German Department and program director for
Defense Language Institute courses there, is co-host with DLI.
