THE SCHOOL COMMITTEE RACE
(Editor's Nate: This is e second o a series of sketches o
sketches of candidates seeking office in the city election Tues-
day. Today's article includes candidates for the School Commit-
tee. Candidates for councilor-at-large and ward councilor will be
discussed in coming installments. Candidates are listed in the
order they appear on the ballot.)

Wollaston, is making his second` bid for the
School Committee. Two years ago he was top
rupnerup, and in the recent preliminary election
he was third from the top.
'~lU r. Fallon was born in Cambridge but came
to Quincy when he was less than a year
old and has lived here since: He is a
Navy veteran of World War II :an{'": s ive
years as an intelligence agent with_th C" ut
ing the. Kdrean conflict. Hle is njarxied-TM has
two children, a son in Montclail' School and a
daughter in North Quincy- High School,
Lists School Program
Mr. Fallon is a graduate df :North Quinsy
High and Boston University attr,did four years
of graduate wot'k at George Wd?hington Univer-
sity. In North Quincy High he as manager of
the football team for three"years. He heads his
own insurance company in Quincy and Boston.
Mr. Fallon has been campaigning with a der-
inite program for the Quincy public schools. One
of his chief points is keeping the mental health
facilities in Quincy.
He advocates school lunch programs. for el
ementary schools with the idea of these facilities
also serving as CD centers in time of a
national emergency.
A third plank in his platform calls for an
incentive program in high -schools, with students
netting a closer look at government in action.
He also thinks that South and West,Quiney need
new schools, saying that these sections were
slighted in the big post-war building program.
