John Joseph Frank, 42, a Wash- ington attorney who worked for the FBI from 1941 to 1949 and, later was employed by the super-; secret ;ag Agen-; cyy before'Te r nng to private prat tine. Frank, "also known as John Kane;" was an unregistered Do- minican agent from about May, 1954, to the present, according to the four-count indictment: It was reported that the indict- rent was- only the first result of the grand jury's investigation of activities in this country . by , agents of the Dominican dictator, ! Rafael Trujillo. The grand jury investigation .was prompted by the mysterious . disappearances of Dr. Jesus de Galindez, -a Columbia University instructor and bitter fog of Tru- jillo, and Gerald Murphy, an American flier. G a l i n d e z vanished in New York City in March,. 1956. It has been charged by his friends that he was murdered or ' kidnaped and taken to the Dominican Re-1 public by Trujillo supporters. Later in the year Murphy, who had been employed by a Domini- can air line, dropped out of sight in that country after telling his friends that. he had flown a "sick" ! man he believed to be -Galindez from New York to the Domini- can Republic.
