Herman Heggen Dies;'
Executive With CIA
Herman F. Heggen, 55, an
executive at the Central In-
telligence Agency, died Monday
at Arlington Hospital of heart
disease.
His career in the CIA, begun
in 1949, incl'ided work in the
office of the Director of Cen-
tral Intelligence as the Deputy
Inspector General.
11 At his request in 1961, Mr.
Heggen was reassigned to other
activities. He was in charge of
an employe benefit and service
program at his .death.
A native of New Rochelle,
N. Y., he attended New York
University and the Pace In-
stitute.
In 1942, Mr. Heggen enlisted
in the Army, receiving a com-
mission in 1943. He was
wounded in January of 1955
near Bastogne; Belgium, and
his injuries forced his retire-
ment from the Army in 1948
