With the U.S. Central Intelli- gence Aggir from 195 - , Dr. Jewell currently is ac l ead of the Political Science Department at the University of Kentucky, a,,- cording to Dr. R. Taylor Cole. provost of Duke, who announced his appointment. Dr. Jewell has written exten-' sively on political and allied sub- jects. His books include "The State Legislature: Politics and Practice" and "Senatorial Politics and Foreign Policy." He also edit- ed and contributed two chapters, to another book, "The Politics of Reapportionment," and has writ- ten numerous scholarly articles. Currently he is on the editorial, board of the Mid-West Journal' of Political Science. Dr. Jewell was awarded the B.A. degree, rriagna cum laude. by Harvard University in 1949. Subsequently; he received his M.A degree from Columbia Universit,, and his Ph.D.; degree from Penn: Sylvania State Univerrsity.
