CIA Man Found Dear!
in Georgetown Home
James S S. Kronthal, a 40-year-old Central intelligence Agency
administrative employe, was found dead in his Georgetown home
today, Homicide Squad detectives said.

Mr. Kronthal hadn't showed up for
work this morning, Detective
Sergts. R. E. Talbot and Bernard
Crooke said.
They found Mr. Kronthal, who
lived alone, fully dressed on a day
bed on the second floor, Police
said they don't know what caused
his death, and are trying to learn
from his maid when he was last
seen alive.
Mr. Kronthal, came from Deal,
N. J. He had worked for CIA for
some time in a minor administra-
tive capacity. He was graduated
from Yale University in 1934.
Later, he was an assistant hie-
tory instructor at Harvard.
During World War II, he rose
from private to captain in the
