JUL 2 5 196 ,~ &., 4:1, M Approved For Release 2003/12/02 : CIA-RDP75-00001 fl000300540009-7 Glen Erie Moorhouse, 55, Senior Official at CIA Glen Erle Moorhouse, 55, a senior official of tbq Central Intelligence Agency, died Tues- day at Alexandria Hospital following an emergency opera- tion. Mr. Moorhouse, who had been with the CIA for 10 years, first did intelligence work dur- ing World War II, when he was a military intelligence officer with the Army in Africa and Italy. He was awarded the Bronze Star medal and the Croix de Guerre for his war- time service. After a brief period with the State Department's Washing- ton office, Mr. Moorhouse went ..to Paris as a special assistant to W. Averell Harriman of the Economic Coeoperation Adinin- istration. bachelor's and master's de- grees from the University of Chicago in 1929. During the 1930s he taught: at the Kemper School as a professor of military science and was assistant principal of Washington Hall, -a school he, and a. group of his friends started in Brussels, Belgium. He was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma. He leaves his wife, Lenore, of the home, 600 River Towels drive, Alexandria; a daughter, Mrs. Fr E'd Lekson, 3609 Tipton i lane, Alexandria; a son, James A., living in Paris; his mother, Mrs. James A.
