Powers, father ot Inprisoned U2
pilot Francis Gary Powers, said
today his son wrote that he
doesn't approvIe of people trying
to write a book about him.
The elder Powers, who plans
to visit his son in a Russian
Prison around the first of May,
said two men fad been asking
questions around Norton about
the background of the pilot whose
reconnaisance plane !went down
deep in the Russian interior May
1, 196th.
l'owhtt identified the men as
David Wise and Tom Ross, both

alone, Powers said in an angry
voice from the shoe repair shop
where he works.
Powers said he had written his
son that the writers had been in
Norton and that his son rplaed
it he didn't like it.
