Robert A. Taft, and grandson of the former President whose name he bears ... was graduated from Yale in 1937; received a Ph.D. from. Princeton in 1942 . . . he taught English and Gaelic culture at Yale, and also taught at Haver- ford .. during Wprld War II he was a research;'analyst in thilitary intelligence .. . afterward, he served for two seat's as deputy administrator of the Economic Co-opera- tion Administration in Ireland ... learned to speak C' ' fluently, and is believed to be the only American Ambassador to have mastered that ancient Irish language . recently he has been with the Central In- telligence Agency ... he and his wife, the former Miss Barbara Hoult Bradfield, of Grand Rapids, Mich., live in New Haven .. , they have four children.
