Col. J. K. Tully,
On CIA Staff
Col. James Rivas Tully, 62,
USA, retired, who has been
with , the Central Intelligence
Agency here for the last two I
years, died yesterday at Mount
Alto Hospital. He lived at 9131
South Washington street, Alex-
andria, Va.
Col. Tully was 'born in St.,
Louis, Mo. He was graduated
from the Military 'Academy in
1917 and served in World War I.
He joined the Pullman Co. in
Evanston, Ill., in 1923, serving
with them as assistant to the ex-
ecutive vice president. He was
on leave from the company dur-
ing World War II and while with
CIA.
Col. Tully 'spent three years
overseas and two. years. at the
Pentagon during World War II.
He was chief of staff for military
railway service ,in Africa, Italy
and France. He was a member
of the Army Navy Club.
Survivors are his widow, Emily
C.; a son, James, jr., Evanston;
a daughter, Mrs. Thomas L. An-
glin, 417 North Washington
I street, Alexandria, and six grand-
daughters.
Graveside services will be held
at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Arlington
Cemetery.
