"We are holding interviews in I i h , ng ave been ,-relatively quiet `during the last two days with only a handful of students !picketing applicants applying 'for federal positiohs. Max Wiecks of the Central -Intelligence Agency In Wash- .;ington, D.C., itas'been recruiting areal univers,,ty students interested In job opportunities with the government. Protesters have been taking pictures of applicants, local and I federal offices rather than on the country, mainly because of the existing atmosphere of stu- dent protests. This prevents any embarrass-[ ment of university officials. We have an obligation as guests on a campus not to cause embarrassment of officials or to disrupt student academic life in any way. We, therefore, ask the national federal officials' and have even employed the use.of walkie - talkies In the building, according to authorities., "When court Is not in session, the regulation involving ?cem- eras in the building does not ap4 ply," said James Byrnes' Jr., U.S. marshal. One student protester said he wanted to try to talk applicants out of working for the govern- ment and because his memory was so ad he tobk' ctures. stated a CIA official in Wash- ington, D.C. "Most of the kids did not seem at all upset at having their pic- tures taken -by the protestors," said a federal official.
