Fairfax Police List Two Suicides
In County Over The Week End
Two Suicides were reported as
weekend by Fairfax County police.
Forty-three year - old Harry J.
Dixon, a Ft. Belvoir sanitary en-
gineering department employe,
shot and killed himself with a
.410 gauge shotgun oh Sunday
afternoon, police reported.
The victim was found in his
home by his 75-year old father,
Charles Dixon, o tee sai the
younger Dixon lost his ,left leg
in a motorcycle aCcident\vhcn he
was 19 years old. They said he
apparently became despondent
while reading a magazine describ
ing the situation of a similarly
handicapped woman, according to
the investigating officers.
An intensive weekend search at
Great Falls failed to,, uncover the
body of a 32-year-old Arlington
man who, with his wife, jumped
into the swirling waters df the
Potomac River Saturday afternoon.
The victim was James A. Wood-
bury, of 1412 Hartford St. Eye-
witnd'sses saw the wuple leap
into the river at the falls. His
wife, also 32, was rescued. Police
quoted her as stating they decided
to "do away with ourselves" be.
cause of "work pressure" on the
hushand. He was an employe of
Central Intelligence Ager.t:y.
