As it turned out, those present
who understood both languages
reported later that the interpret-
er ch "tn' L go much beyond the
Japanese equivalent of "Thank
you, very, very much."
Miss Baez hinted that the man
was in the pay of CIA and was
purposely censoring her "mes-
sage."
Eut since this hardly seemed
worth suppressing, it seems more
likely that the little man was
simply at a loss for words.
