T1nings in the spy business aren't always
what they seem. it seems. Son. Frank
arch wanted In impart some confidential
information to CIA director John McCono
the other day. so he sealed it In an enve-
lope printed with his personal Senate hank
and sent it over by special Senate mes-
senger. The messenger fell Into the hands,
of the security boys at CIA headquarters,
who grilled him at length about what he
was up to, then finally let him go-but
wouldn't accept the letter. And all W# time
we, in our simple way, had thought those
guards at the CIA were meant to keep sec-
rats from getting out.
