"According to the New Yor Journal-American: Secret Cen- tral Intelligence Agency funds are said to have been 'trans- ferred to Soviet secret police and Italian and American.Com- niunist parties.' have infiltra#ed the CIA an principal American embassies.' Journal-American revelations provided a major foreign news story for the French. paper, which credited it to France Soir's New York bureau as well as Reuters and Agence France Presse, the semiofficial F r e n c h news agency. The front page of the Paris edition of the New York Times also carries a story containing in part- the revelations of So- viet defector Michael Golinicw- ski.
