has suddenly loomed into promi-
nence as being backed oy the
Central Intelligence Agency, is
formerly of Cotinrbia City.
He is the :;on of Mr. and Mrs.
Ulysses Groves, R. R. 6, Co-
lumbia City. '~rents of the NSA
president spent the Christmas
holidays with him in Washing-
ton. He graduated from Co1un1-
bia City High School in 1931,
graduated from the University of
Chicago, and spent 1905 at Ox-
ford University in England as a
Rhodes scholar.
Being pros.idlent of NSA is a
full time job, the parents said.
Eugene has been in Washington
for about a year.
The State Department acknowl-
edged Tuesday that CIA was
secret financial backer'oC NSA,
the country's largest or,,;aniza
tion of its kind. The ackno Acdge
ment promised a storm in aca-
demic circles and in Congress
over the big spy agency (CIA)
having a hand in the sludcn
group.
