Mrs. Ruth- Redmond, 65,,returned to New York yes- terday and said the Red Chinese didn't allow her to stay with her son for his 44th birthday last Tuesday because her visa expired two days before. They made a concession by allowing .her to have dinner with him in the jail's reception room two days before. As an even more generous concession they al- lowed their prisoner to choose the menu. His selection was roast chicken, an item not included in the usual prison fare. The gray-haired widow said her son's Chinese jailers gave her 12 strict rules to follow and threatened no more visits if she broke just one.
