MRS. NELL E. VON DER HELLEN
Eagle Point, Oreg.'
e With reference to the 'interceptor
that isn't an interceptor, I remember
my experience years ago on a wintry
day near Union Station in Washington,
D.C. I had responded to a huckster's
tempting call of "Hot ham sand-
wiches." When he handed mine over to
me, I said, "Hey! This thing's practi-
cally frozen. What do you mean, 'hot
ham sand''iches'?" ' "Oh, that's just
the name of them, mister-that's just!
~.the name of them," was his reply.

A-1I DECEPTION (May 2) was most ill-
advised. Must the U.S., like a brash
adolescent, always shout her supposed
secrets from the housetops? Can we
i never keep our mouths shut?
o I say let's stop bugging the people,
who are trying to protect our way o
life.' BENNETTE D. BELCHER
