Communist Party officials
are valuable spies for this
country, Sen. Milton R.
Young (R-N.D.) said Wed-
nesday., .
The senator, who serves
on a Senate appropriations
subcommittee handling
funds for the Central Intel-
ligence Agency, put it this
wa Many of our most valua-
ble CIA operatives in various
countries -throughout the
world are actually high-
ranking Communist Party
officials."','

He did say in that report
that Communist Party mem-
bers in this country usually
hide out among extreme left
or right wing groups, ad-
ding:
"These operatives are ex-
perts in their line of work
and they find little difficulty
in adapting themselves to
any kind of political environ-
ment."
Youngsaid that' every
Communist is an espionage
agent "to a greater or lesser
dcgLce." He added that they
