1. The discussion dealt with various mutual problems of ORR and OCD.

2. Following some discussion of the necessity for OCD to have ad-
ditional personnel in order to keep up with the flow of material and furnish
the services required by other offices, it was agreed that I:r. Reber would.
call a meeting of the Assistant Directors of OCD, ORR, SI, CI, Management,
and Personnel for the purpose of thrashing out once and for all the question
of additional assistance, particularly clerical, for OCD and establishing
a high priority for that Office in obtaining clerks.

3. The problem of maintaining in the Library copies of intelligence
documents procured by SO, which are now being returned to SO after a short
loan period, was discussed at some length. It was decided that OCD and OIC
would investigate this situation and take steps to correct it.

spectus, which it would submit to OIC with examples of uses to which the

25X1A9a 5. reported that the Librarian of Congress had sent a
letter to CIA saying that the Library was prepared to undertake an expanded
program for cataloging Slavic language literature,

6, The proper function of FDD and the question of translation versus
cataloging and indexing was discussed at some length. OIC is now making a
survey of FDD's activities, but this survey has not progressed far enough
to permit the drawing of any conclusions. OIC will continue its survey.

intelligence studies and general summaries of economic situations from the
Libr? , After considerable discussion on this topic it was agreed that
25X1 A9a would look into the matter and discover whether it were possible
to set up either a manual file of reports of a general nature or work out
some method of using the present intellofax cards to achieve the results
desired without having to pull 500,000 different cards.
