Formulete and recommend its intelligence research preeree to the Assistant Director for Research and Reports. 2. Provide the authoritative basic research and consultant services within their specialized functional fields under approved Agency programs. 3. Provide these authoritative basic research and consu1teu4.-, services to each other, to tile other producing compoeente of CIA, Ena to IAO and non-'IAC agencies as required; cellaboraieing with all of the foregoing in the fulfillment of their proscribed responsibilities. Review as required, intelligenee produced by the 0/RR Economic Divisions, and other CIA and governmental componente and make recommendations regarding the adequacy of treatment of those sections which have a bearing on their specialized fields of inquiry. 6. Prepare timely research reports on specific subjects, uhich in a given fwactiooal field are'inter.,regional or technically specialized in character. 7. Participate in the formulation of the National Intelligence Objectives. 8. Evaluate available intelligence information and intelligence for other OIA and governeental componentai aseestrits adequacy, accuracy, and timeliness, and prepare reports of such assessments for the guidance of colledtion, source exploitation, and producing agencies te ensure that all significant fields of intelligence bearing on the national secUrityare.adequately covered. .9. Formulate and establish nedestare-requirements for the collection and exploitation of intelligence data in order to ensure an adequate flow'ef-material in fulfillment of research reqpiremente. -10. Perform such other functions related to intelligence research or reporting as may be directed. Industrial Division: Provide expert consultant and research services in the processing, manufacturing, and construction of: ammunition, weapons, ships, air- craft, vehicles and carriers of all types, self-reproducing tools and equipment, capital goods, and electrical and electronics equipment and devices, including qualitative analysis of foreign equipment. Economic Services Division: Provide expert consultant and research services in the economics and logistics of traffic, and transportation, telecommunications, trade and finance, labor and manpower, construction, electric power, and the study of foreign economic organizations and programs. Economic Divisions Provide expert consultant and research services and aver-all estimates of foreign economic capabilities and vulnerabilities, economic warfare measures and countermeasures, United States foreign economic programs, and foreign target vulnerability studies. 25X1 A9A Approved For Release 2002/02/25 : CIA-RDP75-00662R000300010050-6
