SUBJECT: IDEALIST/TACKLE Route Briefing for Under Secretary
for Political Affairs, U. Alexis Johnson
Office of Special Activities, and Mr. Wymberley
oerr, State epartmen briefed Under Secretary Johnson on all
currently approvedF I mission routes.
2. Under Secretary Johnson was satisfied with the routes (all
at least 20 nautical miles from the mainland but some legs closer to
small islands) and indicated that it would not be necessary for him to
again review each route at the time of mission alert.

3. It was agreed that Under Secretary Johnson would not review
new mission routes, which would replace those currently approved,
unless the legs were moved significantly closer to the mainland. The
undersigned agreed to advise Mr. Coerr at time of route changes and
to brief Mr. Coerr if routes are moved closer to the mainland.
