Left with George Murphy, Joint Committee on Atomic Energy staff, the translation of the article which appeared in the Gorman language magazine "Quick" which he had requested. I also met with Colonel Seymour Shwiller, a former member of the Committee staff who has returned to the Atomic Energy Commission for an assignment in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I debriefed Shwiller on his conlpart- mented clearances and obtained the appropriate termination secrecy a.greemnents 5. Met with Kitty Koeberlein, Assistant to Herb Roback (Staff Director, House Government Operations Committee), and received a letter with attachments sent to the Committee by The letter is for our information and no response is desired by the Com mit:tee. 6. Met with Garner J. Cline, Associate General Counsel, House Judiciary Committee, and told him there would be no need for any formal request to the Agency concerning files and testimony on Wn.t:ergate given to the House Armed Services Committee. I told him it is the opinion of our Acting General Counsel John Warner that the release of such files to the Judiciary Committee by the Armed Services Committee is a matter of comity between the Committees. I noted also this material is in the Possession of five congressional committees. 7. Met with Ralph Preston, House Appropriations Con-xriittee staff, and delivered to him a letter from IC, outlining congressional pay raises for the last 10 years by grade for both military and civilian positions. This was the only followup from the Director's briefing of 23 October. 8. Met briefly with Marian Czarnecki, Chief of Staff, House Foreign Affairs Committee, concerning the Tad Szul.c article of 21 October. In the light of our Agency affidavits the Committee is again examining in detail their handling of the transcript in question. The meeting was interrupted by a call to conference on the AID bill. Further discussion will be delayed until conference on the Am bill is completed. Approved For Releas ([ / - P75B00380R000100050024-4 f CRC, 6/12/2003
