Dear Mr. Chairman:
It occurs to me that the upcoming congressional recess in
August might provide a good opportunity for the members of the
Appropriations Committee staff who handle CIA matters to visit
several of our field stations to ern firsthand something of the
Agency's overseas operations, including our funding and financial
controls. I think such a visit might be of benefit to the Committee
and to the Agency.
If you are in agreement we will be happy to make arrangements
for Mr. Calloway and Mr. A{cConnell, accompanied by an Agency
representative known to them, to visit several of our stations in
Europe during the month of August.
