9. (Unclassified - GLC) Talked with Kathy Nelson, on the staff of
Senator Symington, about access to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee
transcript of Mr. Helms' testimony of 21 May. She said that the last she
heard this transcript had not been returned and it might be several days before
it was available. She mentioned that she felt it was Senator Symington's
desire to have Mr. Helms review not only his own testimony before the
various committees, but also the testimony of other witnesses to see if
he (Helms) might wish to file any supplementary comments.
10. (Unclassified - GLC) Contacted Mildred Ward, on the staff of
Senator Stennis, and arranged for Mr. Colby to see Senator Stennis at
Walter Reed Hospital on Monday, 28 May, at 10:30 a. m.
11. (Unclassified - LLM) Reviewed with Colonel Charles Hammond,
in the office of Legislative Liaison, Department of Defense, biographical
information DOD intends to submit on the Director in connection with his
confirmation hearing as the Secretary of Defense.
12. (Unclassified - LLM) Called Arnold Smith, Senate Appropriations
-Committee staff, and told him that we were pulling together some master
packages of material submitted to the Committee in connection with the
Watergate hearings which we hope will facilitate retrieval. Smith said he
would be very appreciative of such support.
