Monday - 5 March 1973
1. Bill Woodruff, Senate Appropriations Committee
staff, called and asked if I would provide him on an expedite basis with fi ures
on bud et and manpower for the Fiscal Years 1972, 1973 and 1974.
IC Staff, provided these immediately and I took them to Woodruff
this morning. Woodruff commented that Chairman McClellan would probably
make an overture to the Director to release to the public the total budget
figure for National Intelligence Programs for FY 174.
I also gave Woodruff a copy of the book on the Agency FY '74 budget.
2. Called Forest Reece, Senate Agriculture
Committee staff, about the briefing he requested for Senator Bellmon. At
his suggestion it has been set for 4:30 p.m. tomorrow, 6 March.
3. Called Don Lynch, Senate Armed Services
Committee staff, about the request the staff had made for a briefing on the
construction of the VSTOL carriers at Nikolayev. Lynch will check with
the other staff members and be back in touch with me.
4. Called Bill Woodruff, Counsel, Senate
Appropriations Committee, and explained that for the time being Bill Colby
would continue to function as the Agency Comptroller. Arranged with
Woodruff to come out for breakfast with the Director at 0800 hours on
Friday, 9 March.
5. Arranged with Senator Sam Nunn's office
for the Senator to come out and have breakfast with the Director at 0800 hours
on 13 March.
