I (Talked to George Berdes, National Security Policy and Scientific Developments Subcommittee staff, House Foreign Affairs Committee, and after consultation with Carl Duckett, DDS&T, scheduled a briefing on Soviet Chinese strategic strength for Thursday, 14 June 1973, at 2:00 p.m. 6. I I Talked to Tom Kennedy, Asian and Pacific Affairs Subcommittee staff, House Foreign Affairs Committee, who told me that Sam Adams appeared before the Committee yesterday afternoon. His testimony was uneventful. In response to questioning, he represented himself as an indian as far as Agency assignment is concerned. 7? I I Met with Chairman Lucien Nedzi, Intelligence Subcommittee, House Armed Services Committee, in response to his earlier question concerning Agency support of activities outlined in a Justice Department memorandum dated 10 May 1972. I told Nedzi that we have no record in the Agency to indicate that the Department of Justice Information Center outlined in the memorandum was ever established. I outlined for him Agency support provided the Secret Service during the same period of 25X1A time. In addition, I gave him a brief rundown on news reports, Executive Protective Service Incident Report, and concerning an alleged break-in at the Chancery of Chile in May of 1972. See Memorandum for the Record. Bray (R. , Ind.) and in response to questions raised by him during an Agency briefing concerning an alleged break-in at the Chilean Chancery. I reviewed with him a news report of 7 January, the Executive Protective Service Incident Report of 15 May 1972, and I --I of 15 and 16 May 1972 concerning the incident. Bray thanked me very much for the report and told me that there would be no need to enter these items into the transcript of the meeting. I met later with Bill Hogan, House Armed Services Committee staff, and relayed Representative Bray's determination that the subject material need not be entered in the record.
