15. Personnel, called
to inform us that the directorate of an employee had reevaluated his case
and confirmed that his services are surplus. will advise us
when the employee is told of this decision. We will then inform Senator
Richard Schweiker's (R., Pa.) office, as they are following this case.
16. I After checking with Carl Duckett, DD/S&T,
the date for briefing the Muskie Subcommittee of Senate Foreign Relations
Committee, was confirmed for Friday, 18 May, at 3:00 p.m. Bill Ashworth,
of the Committee staff, expressed Senator Muskie's appreciation for the
change in date.

Subcommittee, House Armed Services Committee, and relayed to him

Armed Services Committee staff and.Ioutlined for him the various documents

be available to him within the Committee.

OCI, accompanied by briefed Senator Charles Mathias (R. , Md.
25X1 on Communism in Cambodia and on recent changes in the Soviet Union. At
the Senator's request, former Representative Tom Elliott, now Chairman of
the Salzburg Seminar on American Studies, sat in on the changes in Soviet
leadership portion of the briefing. The Senator's questions were brief and
in point. There are no followups from the briefing.
