(Confidential - JGO) Met with Chairman Lucien Nedzi, Intellige e Subcommittee, House Armed Services Committee, and brought him up-to-d a e1C for his information on Southern Air Transport and the Senate session on the Defense bill. He asked that I keep him advised. 25X1 C 8. (Unclassified - JMM) Called Ed Braswell, Chief Counsel, Senate Armed Services Committee, to say that the Director is anxious to talk to Chairman Stennis as soon as convenient regarding hearings on our legislation and also regarding our appearing before the Foreign Relations Committee on Chile, etc. Braswell said that Stennis was preoccupied with the Trident debate and the trial of his assailants this week and it might not be easy to see him immediately but suggested I call his personal secretary Mildred Ward. Called Mildred Ward and left word with her of the Director's desire to see the Senator as soon as convenient. She said she will let us know and indicated she would try to work it in this week. 9. (Confidential - GLC) Made arrangements with Dorothy Fosdick, Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations staff; Darrell St. Claire, Assistant Secretary to the Secretary of the Senate; and William H. Wannall, Senate Sergeant at Arms, for the handling of classified charts to be used by Senator Henry Jac briefin of the Senate on Soviet 25X1 C weapons nrovrams 25X1 C and I then remained in the Vice President's office off the benate reception rouii.L during the session. At the conclusion of the_session the charts were 25X1C collected and returned to Headquarters. I have called Messrs. Wannall and St. Claire and thanked them for the exceptional assistance and courtesy extended us.
