Middle East and the Soviet ABM program. ? I also told her something about
the background information we had on Andrew St. George and suggested she
pass it on to Senator Jackson at an early opportunity.

Senate Arme Services CornmittPP jtaff, who told me of a telephone conversation
Braswell had had with Miles Copeland in London regarding allegations
contained in two recent articles in the National Review by Copeland concerning
the Agency.
25X1 6. - JMM) Met with Sena.tnr Stt;rt Svrninoal-on who gave
me a copy of a letter- QJ ri-- .=,011 1,nij =written to Symington summarizing his
telephone conversation with Miles Copeland. Symington suggested that John
Warner, OGC, who was mentioned in the conversation, should prepare an
affidavit regarding his knowledge of the matter involved.
Symington said that he would be glad if Ambassador Helms called him
upon Helms' return to Washington on Saturday, 24 November, preferably
around 8:30 or 9:00 in the morning.
Symington said his present inclination was "let all the St. Georges
and Copelands have their say" and after they had done so he planned to go
on the floor of the Senate and make a major speech rebutting their allegations.

the Government for the Conduct of Foreign Policy in room S. 211 of the Capitol
and discussed with them the role of Central Intelligence in foreign affairs.
