called to say that this afternoon Senator McClellan told Senator Cranston
the FY 74 budget figures for CIA, NSA, DIA and NRO. Cranston asked
about publishing them and McClellan reminded him of the fact that the
figures were secret and of Cranston's responsibilities as a member of
the Senate, but McConnell cannot guarantee that Cranston will not make the
figures public.

for Senator Symington were delivered to the. Committee staff for passing
to him at 0930 this morning.

8. In response to his call, I picked. up a
travel authorization letter for Representative William Minshall (R. Ohio)
from Ralph Preston, House Appropriations Committee. The letter is a
formal authorization by Chairman Mahon for use of funds to defer expenses
on an authorized inspection trip.

Affairs Committee, who told me he wa id be traveling on Monday with
Representative es er Wolff (D. , N. Y. ), Representative Charles Rangel
(D? , N. Y.) and their wives to China on a narcotics inspection tour. There
is some chance that Representative Bella Abzug (D., N. Y.) will be included
in the party and that Representative Morgan Murphy (D. , Ill.) and Fortney
Stark (D. , Calif.) will join the party in Bangkok. The party will arrive in
Manila, August 10; Hong Kong, August 17; Taipei, August 20; Seoul. Aus~,,. t
22; and Tokyo August 25.
