14. (Confidential - JGO) Met with Chairman Lucien Nedzi,
Intelligence Subcommittee, House Armed Services Committee, and Frank
Slatinshek, Chief Counsel. Slatinshek briefed Nedzi on the current situation
concerning the exchange of correspondence with Representative Jack Brooks
relating to Agency authority for disposal of property and left with Lim a
set of the correspondence plus a copy of the classified OGC memo of law
for Nedzi's use in the event of a call from Brooks. Nedzi took the problem
in stride. As for possible legislative assistance, Nedzi also feels that this
is an area that should be investigated when we get into our legislative package
next year. He feels it would be well to get rid of the present ambiguities.
15. (Unclassified - PLC) A letter from the Director to the Director,
Office of Management and Budget in response to their request for comments
on our Enrolled Bill, S. 2714, amending the cost of living provision in
CIARDS was prepared, signed and forwarded.
