1.1 I Received a call from Dorothy Fosdick who said
Senator Jackson had asked her to get a briefing on the political situation in
.China. Later in the day I accompanied I Iwho briefed her for
about 45 minutes and no difficulties were encountered. At the conclusion of
the briefing I spoke to Miss Fosdick about the termination of the Subcommittee
on National Security and International Operations. She said that the responsi-
bilities and staff of that Subcommittee have been absorbed into the Permanent
Subcommittee on Investigations which is now chaired by Senator Jackson.
2. Talked with Robert Mosbacher, Legislative
Assistant to Senator Howard Baker (R., Tenn. ), who said the Senator finds
he will be unable to make the luncheon this Thursday and has suggested we
try to reschedule it after James Schlesinger assumes the responsibilities
as DCI.
3. I (Joan Eigelsbach, in the office of
Senator Jacob Javits (R. , N. Y. called and requested that the Congress-
man be provided a copy of
4. Delivered to the office of Representative
Mike McCormack (D. , Wash.) parts I and 2 of the Broadcasting Stations of
the World which had been requested by Tom Moser, of McCormack's staff.
