I l Received a call from Cynthia Swift, in the office o.l Representative dames M. Hanley (D. , N. Y. ), inquiring about employment possibility for a constituent, a friend of Hanley' s, who is retired from the military. I outlined for her the present employment picture as well as the difficulty inherent in the employment of individuals over 50 years of age. I told her we would be pleased to arrange an interview or take such other action as Hanley might desire but that I did not see any possibility of employment for the next 18 months or so. No further action is required on this case. 25X1 5. At the request of CA Staff, called J. Sourwine, Chief Counsel, , and made arrangements for photographing maps locating labor camps in the USSR used in connection with the testimony of Later, together with TSD, who photographed the maps. 25X1 6. Called Bill Woodruff,. Counsel, Senate Appropria ions Committee, an rank Slatinshek, Chief Counsel, House Armed Services Committee, and told them of the scheduled swearing in of the new Director this morning. 7. I ICalled the office of Jim Calloway, Senate Appropriations Committee staff, and in his absence left a message with his secretary that James Schlesinger would be taking the oath of office at 11 o'clock today and the turnover from Helms to Schlesinger would take place at noon today.
