3. (Secret - GLC) Received an inquiry from John Dickey, USIB staff,
who said DIA's USIB staff had queried him regarding USIB instructions put
out in 1955 and 1969 concerning the handling of compartmented and other
sensitive intelligence briefings of the Congress. I suggested that Dickey
reply to the effect that these procedures are still on the books and in general
are still applicable. If DIA wishes to discuss the matter further they should
contact Mr. Maury or bring the matter up in USIB.
4. (Internal Use Only - JGO) In response to his call and after
checking with Special Assistant for Information Control,
I told Mr. Robert um, Senate Foreign Relations Committee Research
Assistant, that we would hope to have final determination on the question
of release of the OSS documents during the day tomorrow. Mr. Blum had
related in his earlier call that since the publication of the Committee
calendar, the Committee and his office are being pressed very hard on
questions relating to the Committee study on Vietnam. Separately Mr. Blum
asked if we could provide a copy of the "World Oil Facts and Figures"
published by the Agency.
5. (Internal Use Only - JGO) Received a call from Miss Mary
Flanagan, in the office of Representative Walter Flowers (D. , Ala. ), who
asked if we could find out for the Congressman the -present address of

Charles Mathias (R., Md.), Edward Brooke (R., Mass.), Jacob Javits
(R., N. Y.), Hubert Humphrey (D., Minn.), Stuart Symington (D., Mo.),
Mike Mansfield (D., Mont.), Henry Jackson .(D. , Wash.), J. W. Fulbright
(D., Ark.), and Representative Henry Reuss (D., Wis.) FBIS items in
which their names were-mentioned.
