Approved For Release 2005/11 'li Q. .- .' 9 00380R000300100040-8 OLC 72-0521 21 April 197; THIS DOCUMENT WAS SUBJECT TO ITT/CHILE JUSTICE INVESTIGATION 25X1` SUBJECT: Senate Foreign Relations Committee ITT Hearings . This will confirm our conversation this afternoon. 2. I talked to Art Kahl, Chief Clerk, Senate Foreign Relaticrr s Committee, this morning who told me that the staff paper on the ITT hearings prepared by Pat Holt (who is the number two man on the staff imme.ately behind Carl Marcy) will be going to the Chairman today. In all pro'-)?bility it will be considered by the full Committee during the coming week to the point of requesting funds from the Senate for the conduct of the ITT bearings. Once approved by the Committee, the next step would be to request r?ie pertinent papers from ITT which are being gathered together at thi? :ime. After receipt of the documents it will be necessary to review and digest them and line out the course of hearings before hearings would he ae'=ually scheduled. It appears, therefore, that at best hearings on the specific topic of ITT overseas operations and the Anderson papers is many -=treks, if not months, in the future. 3. It was Indicated that other hearings In the meantime might digress Into this area but this is purely speculative at this time. 25X1 25X1 Assistant Legislative ounse 25X1 25X1 MEMORANDUM FOR: Chief, `vVH Division Distribution: Original - Addressee OLC / (21 April 1972) Approved For Release 2005 25X1
