Approved For Release 2006/07/06: CIA-RDP75B00380R000400010044-3 CONFIDENTIAL JOURNAL OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL Friday - 21 September 1973 2,r Delivered to Amelia Graves, in the office of Senato tu artymington, a ind memo summarizing our earlier testirs~ony before the Senate Armed Services Committee regarding the latest Soviet ICBM launching techniques. 3.1 Delivered to Ed Braswell, Chief Counsel, Senate Armed Services Committee, a copy of the above memo to Senator Symington. 4. Met with Senator Milton Young and briefed him on recent developments regarding Soviet ICBM testing and submarine construction, and indications of Arab terrorist activity. I told Young we were concerned about the recent spate of rumors of Agency involvement in the coup in Chile and some of the other sensational stories that were going around and would appreciate his letting us know if he had any sug- gestions as to how we could set the record straight for the benefit of his skeptical colleagues. He said he, didn't think we need have any serious worries in this regard and he would keep my suggestion in mind. I reminded Young that we were ready to brief our Appropriations Sub- committee at any time and that I thought there were several things they would probably want to know about before too long. He said he agreed and would suggest to Chairman McClellan that it might be well to have such a briefing before the Veterans' Day recess (18 - 23 October), CRC, 4/11/2003 .
