Approved For Release 2006/11/16: CIA-RDP75B00380R000400110024-4 Journal -- Office of Legislative Counsel Page 5 Wednesday - 17 October 1973 20. (Unclassified - LLM) Jim Cromwell, formerly with Representative Jack F. Kemp (R., N. Y.), and now Administrative Assistant to Senator William L. Scott (R., Va.), called requesting information we might have on comments by world leaders on the U. S. supply of Israel in connection with a speech Scott is to deliver tomorrow. After making arrangements for delivery of the last several days' daily reports to Cromwell and instructing Cromwell on using material from these documents, Cromwell called again saying that Scott was thankful for our support and wanted to know if we could also send up a paper on the current status of the war. As an alternative, I suggested a briefing and contacted Mr. Maury who will follow through. 21. (Unclassified - LLM) Cleared with George Gilbert, Legislative Reference Division, -OMB, a proposed revision in our report to Stennis on S. 1547 (Humphrey bill to establish a committee on national security). A copy of our final report is to be sent to Gilbert. 22. (Unclassified - LLM) George Murphy, on the staff of the Joint Committee on Atomic Energy, called requesting a translation of the story in the German publication "Quick" which contained classified information on 25X1 the West German/Russian negotiations. Based upon the advice of OCI, I told Murphy that we would send him a translation of the Z6 September issue in about a week and he said this would be fine. 23. (Unclassified - LLM) George Gilbert, Legislative Reference Division, OMB, called in connection with a request for the Agency's views on the C.hur he Macias proposal for the Special Committee to Terminate the National Emergency and referring to a 15 October deadline asked that we send OMB the Agency's proposed report, or report if already sent. I told Gilbert that I didn't believe that we had received a request for our views but that we would check our records and let him know. It was Gilbert's under- standing that the request .had gone out to all government agencies. 24. (Internal Use Only - KKH) Received a call from Ann Shoemaker, in the office of Senator Herman E. Talmadge (D., Ga. ), requesting information on a U. S. Army retired Their office was contacted by his wife who claims he works for us in Southeast Asia and she hasn't seen him for four years. His daughter is getting married and she needs someone to give her away. I told her I would check and let her know. Personnel is checking.
