6. (Unclassified - GLC) In response to his call on Wednesday, I
advised Mr. Shuey, Library of Congress, that the Agency had prepared a
document in December of last year which updated much of the material which
had previously been published in our contributions to the Joint Economic
Committee study on China in May of 1972. I said the document (People's
Republic of China: International Trade Handbook number A 72-38) could
be obtained through Library of Congress channels but I would be happy to
provide him with a copy if he had any difficulty in getting it. I also mentioned
our people would be doing another updated document on this subject in October
or November of this year,
7. (Confidential - GLC) Guy McConnell and Jim Calloway, Senate
Appropriations Committee staff, approved a draft of a letter to the Chairman
suggesting that they visit several of our field stations in Europe during the
August recess. I also submitted to Calloway a suggested itinerary for this
trip.

a constituent letter from Robert Boyd concerning congressional oversight
of NSA. I suggested this letter be forwarded to Assistant Secretary of Defense
John Marsh for a response.
9. (Secret - GLC) In response to his request, provided Frank Slatinshek,
Chief Counsel, House Armed Services Committee, with a financial statement

added he would attach it to the letter to Chairman Nedzi, Intelligence Subcom-
