4.1 1 Talked with Bob Dixon, a former law school
professor and a friend, who has been nominated to be an Assistant Attorney
General. Dixon said he would head the Justice Department's Office of Legal
Counsel but does not plan to take the oath of office until after 20 February
in view of a case he will be arguing in the courts on that date. I extended an
invitation to Dixon to come to the Agency for lunch when his situation has
settled a bit and to meet our General Counsel. He said he would like very
much to do this and we agreed to get together the latter part of February.
